Editorial policy

Reviewed 5 October 2026. This policy explains how Evolve develops and maintains independent information about athletic physiology and functional training for men 35+.

Masthead

Editorial responsibility is shared by Maya Santoso, Chief Editor; Daniel Hartono, Senior Writer; Rina Prasetya, Research Editor; and Arif Nugraha, Audience and Accessibility Editor. Roles identify review responsibility and do not imply that any named person provides personal professional advice.

1. Mission

We publish clear, useful and responsible coverage. The editorial purpose is to improve understanding, not to create fear, shame or urgency around exercise. We respect readers as adults capable of making informed choices.

2. Selection

Topics are selected for relevance, reader questions, evidence and the realities of adult life. We consider climate, access, work patterns and different training histories. A popular subject is not automatically a reliable one.

3. Sources

Writers consult research, professional guidance, interviews and direct observation. Sources are assessed for methods, conflicts, date and relevance. We distinguish a study result from an editorial interpretation.

4. Review

Complex health and performance pieces receive an additional fact review when possible. Review improves clarity and catches unsupported certainty. It does not turn journalism into personal medical advice.

5. Language

We avoid guaranteed outcomes, miracle claims, body shaming and artificial urgency. We describe uncertainty plainly and use respectful language for age, disability, health and ability. Headlines should represent the article rather than manufacture anxiety.

6. Corrections

Readers can report factual errors by phone at +62 813 7458 9210 or through contact.php. We assess the evidence, correct material errors promptly and explain a significant correction when useful. Minor style edits may not receive a public note.

7. Conflicts

Writers disclose relevant financial, professional or personal relationships to the editor. A conflict does not always prevent publication, but it may require reassignment, disclosure or a narrower claim. Undisclosed commercial influence is not acceptable.

8. Sponsorship

Sponsored material is labelled and separated from independent articles. Sponsors do not approve editorial conclusions. Advertising information is described on our publicidad page so readers can understand the distinction.

9. Interviews

Interview subjects may check quotations for accuracy, but they do not receive control over unrelated conclusions. We protect the meaning of a statement while editing for clarity. Anonymous sourcing is exceptional and requires an editorial reason.

10. Corrections archive

Material corrections are dated with the article. The current policy version was reviewed on 5 October 2026. Earlier policy versions can be requested from the Evolve editorial desk at our Central Jakarta address.

11. Reader safety

Articles involving injury, symptoms or nutrition include appropriate limits. We encourage qualified local advice and do not present testimonials as proof. Readers should not delay urgent care because of a general article.

12. Accountability

Questions about this policy can be sent to Evolve, Jalan Diponegoro 45, Menteng, Central Jakarta, 10310, Indonesia. We aim to acknowledge editorial complaints within 10 business days and respond with the reasoning behind a decision.

Editorial decisions are recorded through ordinary working notes, source links and publication dates. A source is not treated as authoritative merely because it is widely repeated, and a single study is not used to imply a universal conclusion. Where evidence is mixed, the article should say so in language that a general reader can understand.

Readers may suggest topics, identify missing context or report a factual concern without creating an obligation to publish. A correction request should include the relevant page, the disputed statement and supporting material where available. We aim to acknowledge correspondence within seven days and review a material factual concern within 30 days.

Commercial, professional or personal relationships are considered before publication and again when an article is updated. Disclosures are written close enough to the relevant content to be understandable, while ordinary editorial proximity is not presented as sponsorship. Personal information supplied during feedback is handled under the privacy policy and is not published without an appropriate basis.

This policy was reviewed on 5 October 2026. The current review date is retained with the policy, and significant changes may be noted in internal editorial records for three years. Questions can be sent to Jalan Diponegoro 45, Menteng, Central Jakarta, 10310, Indonesia, or by phone at +62 813 7458 9210.

The policy applies to commissioned articles, updates, headlines, captions, newsletters and explanatory pages published under the Evolve name. It also informs how feedback is assessed after publication. Commercial proximity, reader interest or publication speed does not remove the need for source checking and a clear distinction between fact, interpretation and opinion.

Source records may include a title, author, publication date, link, relevant passage and a note about limitations. When a source is unavailable or disputed, the article should avoid presenting the point with more certainty than the available material allows. Updates may add context, correct a statement or mark a material change without disguising the original publication history.

Correction requests should identify the exact page and sentence, explain the concern and provide reliable supporting information where possible. We aim to acknowledge a report within seven days and review a material factual issue within 30 days. Personal contact details supplied for a correction are handled under the privacy policy and are not published as part of the correction record without a proper basis.

Conflict disclosures, review notes and significant correction decisions may be retained for up to three years for accountability. The working record is limited to the people who need it for editorial review and is not a public reader profile. This policy was reviewed on 5 October 2026 and the review date will change when material editorial standards are revised.

Publication standards in practice

The policy applies to commissioned work, updates, headlines, captions, newsletters and explanatory pages. Writers distinguish reported fact, source interpretation and opinion, and they avoid presenting an uncertain result as a universal conclusion. Publication speed does not remove the need to check a material claim.

Source notes may record the author, date, method, relevant passage, link and known limitation. When a source is unavailable, outdated or disputed, the language is narrowed to match what can be supported. Readers can request context without creating an obligation to publish every suggestion.

Corrections should identify the page and sentence and explain the concern with supporting information where possible. Evolve aims to acknowledge a report within seven days and assess a material factual issue within 30 days. Contact details supplied for review are handled under the privacy policy.

Conflicts are considered before publication and again when an article is updated. A relationship may require disclosure, an independent review or non-publication depending on its effect. Commercial proximity does not give a sponsor control over an independent conclusion.

The policy was reviewed on 5 October 2026. Significant corrections, disclosure decisions and review notes may be retained for up to three years for accountability. Questions may be sent to Jalan Diponegoro 45, Menteng, Central Jakarta, 10310, Indonesia.
